This blog tells you more about the steps for starting your own mealworm farm and then feed your leopard gecko!

This is how we grow Snoozy’s food: The mealworms eggs are microscopic. The mealworm larvae is what the gecko will eat. The mealworm larvae will then turn into a pupae. Then when they are pupae, they turn into beetles and the cycle goes on and on.

“ It is most likely that a juvenile leopard gecko will not eat the adult beetle and pupae. ”
So for the farm we have a little plastic container with 3 drawers. The top one is the beetle part where they mate. The bottom of the container has holes where the eggs fall to the second container. The second container is where the baby mealworm eggs will hatch and will turn into a mealworm for Snoozy to eat. She will eat the larger ones so we have to wait until they are big enough. The third drawer has the bigger baby mealworms stored ready for feeding Snoozy.
