This is an educational blog about learning how to hold a baby leopard gecko. Enjoy!

Daily at night we take Snoozy out of the terrarium and put her in a cardboard container. She has a little wander around. Then we will pick her up to hold her. We put our hand on the surface of the cardboard then let her climb on our hand.
We pass her around the family. She uses her tongue to taste and help smell. This is how you tame them. You tame the gecko so it gets used to you. If its not used to you, it wouldn’t want to go onto your hand. As a juvenile, they wouldn’t be tamed. So its good to usually handle them. When you first get a juvenile { new born - 1 year } you cant touch or hold it for 2 weeks after you first get it. It needs to get used to its cage. When that time is complete, you can hold the gecko. Every time you hold the gecko, you can hold it longer. { e.g 3 mins } after a while they get quite curious. They will come right to the glass to say hi.

“If you hold your leopard gecko a little bit every day, it will soon get used to you and become your friend”

Snoozy sure is getting friendly, I very much like this little reptile!
